Taste of Soul Family Festival is set for Saturday, Oct. 17, along nearly three miles of Crenshaw Boulevard in South Los Angeles. The free annual event will run between Obama Boulevard and Stocker Street, with music, food and other activities.
Now in its 21st year, the festival is organized by Bakewell Media. Organizers say it has grown from about 25,000 attendees at its first event in 2005 to roughly 350,000 each year.
More than 100 food vendors are expected, offering a range of cuisines. Organizers say the festival also gives Southern California small businesses an economic boost.
