The Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth will open its first exhibition devoted to photography on Oct. 4, with more than 170 images borrowed from France’s national library.
The works include photographs dating to the 1840s and trace the medium from early daguerreotypes to portraits made between the world wars. Kimbell director Eric M. Lee said this is the collection’s first trip to the United States since 1980.
The exhibition runs through Jan. 17 in the museum’s Renzo Piano Pavilion at 3333 Camp Bowie Blvd. Admission costs $14 to $18.
