Dennis Hastert, a former speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, has died at 84.
Hastert was an Illinois wrestling coach before entering politics. He became the longest-serving Republican House speaker, but his record in office was later overshadowed by revelations that he had sexually abused young members of his sports team.
Those revelations emerged about a decade after he left office. Hastert later went to prison.
