A Davis High School student died after a medical emergency during a physical education class, Aldine ISD said. The student was in the school gymnasium when the emergency occurred.
School staff responded and provided assistance while emergency medical services were contacted. The district said the student’s parents were notified. An ambulance took the student to a local hospital, where the student was later pronounced dead.
Aldine ISD has not released further details about the student or the nature of the medical emergency. The district said counselors and support staff would be available on campus for students and staff affected by the death.
