Jay’ce marked his first birthday at the hospital in Hollywood, Florida, where he was born, one year after a rare emergency surgery saved his life.

While he was still in the womb, Memorial Healthcare System doctors found a mass in his neck that was blocking his airway. The condition meant he would not be able to breathe after birth.

His family returned to the hospital to celebrate. Jay’ce was happy and healthy in time for his birthday.
