Missing Miami Gardens police dog Gael is back with handler
Miami Gardens police said Sunday that Gael, a 2-year-old beige Labrador working as a K-9 officer, has been found and returned to his handler.
The dog had been missing since about 9:30 p.m. Monday, when police said he jumped out of a cruiser on Northwest Second Avenue and ran across the street. The department spent days searching and had asked the public for help.
Police also thanked people who called in tips that helped locate Gael. The department has not released details on where he was found or how he was recovered.
