New York City is expanding Trick-or-Streets to a record 160 car-free streets and plazas across all five boroughs this October.

City officials said the annual program will bring trick-or-treating, games, live entertainment and other fall activities into neighborhood public spaces. The Department of Transportation plans to distribute 75,000 pieces of candy during the festivities.

Community groups, schools and cultural organizations will take part. The Municipal Art Society of New York will offer free guided walks focused on neighborhood history, architecture and public spaces. Street Lab will help stage events outside selected public schools in the Bronx, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens.

Scheduled events include Hillel Plaza in Brooklyn on Oct. 22, Water Street on Staten Island on Oct. 24, Austin Street in Queens on Oct. 25, Canal Open Street and Division Plaza in Manhattan on Oct. 28, and James Baldwin Plaza in the Bronx on Oct. 31.
