NYC Ferry is set to raise fares on Oct. 19. A one-way ticket will cost $5, up from $4.90, while a 10-trip bundle will rise from $29 to $30.
The new bundle price works out to $3 per ride, matching the cost of a subway or bus trip. The Economic Development Corporation, which oversees NYC Ferry, says the fare changes will support the system’s long-term sustainability. The service last raised fares in 2024.
Reduced one-way fares will increase from $1.45 to $1.50 for eligible riders, including people with disabilities, those aged 65 and older, and Fair Fares participants. The two-day reduced-fare pass will remain $15 and become a permanent option.
The ferry service is also pairing the fare increase with discounted trips for students in grades 6 through 8 at New York City public, private and charter schools.
