Karol G opened the first of two sold-out Miami shows at Hard Rock Stadium with a five-act production built around her “Tropicoqueta” album. Heavy rain had soaked the field before the performance, but the show went ahead.
Elena Rose performed before Karol G, who appeared at 8:32 p.m. above a stage filled with smoke and fire. Wearing a metallic two-piece and joined by dancers, she began with “Latina Forever.” Screens carried close-ups of the choreography across the stadium.
The staging shifted from a fiery cave to blue, underwater-style projections, with narration by Morgan Freeman between sections. Greeicy later joined Karol G for “Amiga Mía” as dancers in tropical bird-inspired costumes filled the stage. The performance also featured costume changes, water effects and choreography despite the South Florida humidity.
