Clark Atlanta University is mourning Morgan Gamble, a 21-year-old student who died after a car crash in Atlanta.
Officers found Gamble critically injured at Hank Aaron Drive and Glen Street around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. She died later at a hospital, police said. Investigators believe Nikolai Dunford was driving 94 mph in a 35 mph zone when his vehicle hit Gamble’s car. Police said he faces charges of reckless driving, speeding and first-degree vehicular homicide.
Gamble’s father, George Gamble, said the family is seeking answers about how the crash happened. Nearby residents came out to help after hearing the collision, and one called 911. Others said they had seen or heard crashes at the intersection before.
Her family described Gamble as a leader who drew people together. They said she excelled in the classroom and onstage, where she was crowned Miss Omega Psi Phi.
