A new InsiderAdvantage poll puts Rick Jackson narrowly ahead of Keisha Lance Bottoms in Georgia’s governor’s race, 49% to 47%. The two-point gap falls within the poll’s 3.46% margin of error.
The survey questioned 800 likely voters on Oct. 12 and 13, with 4% undecided. It was conducted after a Georgia Public Broadcasting gubernatorial debate that Jackson chose to skip. The results alone cannot establish whether his absence affected voters.
Early voting began in Georgia on Oct. 13. The Georgia Secretary of State’s office reported more than 190,000 ballots cast on the first day, a record first-day turnout.
