San Francisco preschool database finds median full-day tuition of about $2,500 a month
A database covering 313 San Francisco preschools shows a median monthly cost of about $2,500 for full-day programs that run five days a week during typical working hours.
The database focuses on childcare centers and also includes co-ops, though that median excludes co-ops and does not factor in financial aid. It was built to help families compare details that can be difficult to find school by school, including tuition, schedules and program offerings.
The listing identifies 230 schools with full-day hours, defined as at least about eight hours a day or longer hours for an added fee. It also shows 94 schools with language programs. The database was assembled from public school information and follow-up contact with schools when details were missing, though some entries still lack tuition data.
