Seattle Public Schools’ board unanimously approved a weapons-detector pilot at Rainier Beach High School and Nathan Hale High School. Both schools had requested the program.
The open-pillar detectors are expected to be installed and operating within the next few months. The equipment will be similar to detectors used at Mariners games.
