Arizona State University waived its usual 10-year waiting period to induct former triathlete Hannah Henry into its Athletics Hall of Fame on Friday. Henry was killed by a hit-and-run driver on Feb. 8.
Henry competed for ASU from 2017 to 2021. She won two individual national championships, was part of four national championship teams and was named USA Triathlon Freshman of the Year in 2017.
The 2026 induction ceremony took place at The Westin Tempe. Henry’s mother, Della, said the early induction was the right decision and described humility and appreciation as her daughter’s legacy.
