The Bears beat the New York Jets 23-12 at Soldier Field, piling up 492 yards of offense despite starting backup quarterback Tyson Bagent in place of the injured Caleb Williams.
Running back Kyle Monangai led the ground game with 146 yards and two touchdowns on 30 carries. Under coach Ben Johnson, Chicago ran 89 plays and gained 34 first downs, both NFL season highs. The first-down total was also a franchise record.
Chicago held the ball for 42 minutes, 45 seconds, leaving the Jets with 17:15 of possession and just 45 seconds in the fourth quarter. The Bears did not punt, their first game without one since 2014. Their 89 plays were also the team's most in a game this millennium.
