Milwaukee took a 2-0 lead in the National League Championship Series on Monday, defeating Los Angeles 7-4 in Game 2.
William Contreras pulled the Brewers level with a home run in the fifth inning and put them ahead with an RBI single in the sixth. The Dodgers had led three times through five innings, but Milwaukee answered each time. Four Brewers relievers then set down the final 15 Los Angeles hitters in order.
Los Angeles finished with three hits and failed to score in four chances with runners in scoring position. Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto left after 2 2/3 innings, the shortest postseason start of his career.
The series moves to Los Angeles for Game 3 on Wednesday. Milwaukee is pursuing its first NL pennant, having made its only World Series appearance in 1982 as an American League team.
