Oklahoma beat Texas 27-24 in Dallas on Saturday, with Tate Sandell kicking a field goal to end the 122nd meeting between the Red River rivals.
The Sooners entered the game unranked at 2-2 overall and 0-1 in SEC play. Texas was No. 1 and undefeated at 4-0, including a 1-0 conference record. Oklahoma had lost to Georgia and Michigan earlier in the season.
The result reversed the teams’ positions from 2025, when an unranked Texas team beat Oklahoma 23-6 after opening that season at No. 1. Oklahoma began this season ranked No. 10 but had fallen out of the rankings by Saturday’s game at the Cotton Bowl.
