Houston Texans coach DeMeco Ryans expects wide receiver Tank Dell to resume practicing this week under a 21-day roster window. Dell has not played since a knee injury in a December 2024 game against the Chiefs.

Practicing would not guarantee Dell a return to games. The Texans would have 21 days from his first practice to activate him; otherwise, he would move to season-ending injured reserve.

Dell practiced several times during training camp before a minor setback. General manager Nick Caserio previously said Dell was working to regain his top speed. Ryans said the team would watch how players respond to practice before making further decisions.

The team also plans to start practice windows for two other players: Kayden McDonald, a rookie defensive tackle, and Braden Smith, a veteran tackle.
