University of Miami agrees to Nike apparel deal worth more than $200 million
The University of Miami has agreed to a 10-year contract with Nike worth more than $200 million, according to multiple sources, marking the school’s return to the brand after 11 years with Adidas.
The deal is set to begin with the 2027 football season and would average a little more than $20 million a year in cash and apparel. That would make it one of the biggest apparel agreements in college sports. Adidas, whose current 12-year agreement with Miami expires in June, had the right to match the offer but did not fully match the terms.
Miami is expected to use the added revenue for athletic department expenses, NIL funding and possibly an on-campus football office building that is still in early development. The new agreement would also revive a long partnership between Miami and Nike that previously ran from 1987 to 2015.
