Downtown Los Angeles reached 104 degrees Monday, its fourth straight day of triple-digit heat in an October streak, as the National Weather Service reported nine daily high-temperature records set or tied across Los Angeles, Ventura and Orange counties.
The downtown reading surpassed the previous daily high of 101 degrees, set in 1953. Santa Ana reached 106 degrees, above its previous mark of 103, while Woodland Hills hit 106, topping its 2025 record by one degree. Los Angeles International Airport tied its daily high of 101 degrees.
The heat could continue Tuesday. A fifth consecutive day at or above 100 degrees downtown was forecast, a run that has not occurred there in any month since 1963.
