President Donald Trump appeared to include Sen. Tom Cotton’s cellphone number in a Saturday Truth Social post pressing for permanent daylight saving time.
Trump accused Cotton, an Arkansas Republican, of holding up the Sunshine Protection Act and urged Arkansans to call him. The bill would make daylight saving time permanent nationwide, ending the twice-yearly clock change.
Trump had called on Senate Republicans to advance the measure in an earlier post, arguing that clock changes impose financial and other costs. He criticized Cotton again later Saturday. Cotton wrote on X that he, too, dislikes changing clocks, but said Congress had enacted permanent daylight saving time before and then repealed it.
