President Donald Trump reacted angrily after Navanethem “Navi” Pillay won the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize instead of him.
At a Friday evening rally in Syracuse, New York, Trump called the decision an indelible stain on Norway. He said he had never heard of Pillay, a leading jurist and former U.N. human rights chief, and referred to her as a mystery person.
Trump also criticized the award committee’s decision in social media posts on Friday and Saturday.
