Cain Culto played a free show at Miami’s ZeyZey on his debut tour, celebrating his album “Culto.” The vocalist and violinist performed as the crowd danced and sang in intense heat.
Culto’s music draws on his departure from Christianity. Once a Christian rock frontman, he became estranged from his family after leaving their shared religion. Songs including “Chiquilinda” and “2 wolves” reflect that separation.
He said he wanted the album to hold both raw sexuality and fragile moments. Alongside personal family relationships, “Culto” explores spirituality and places connected to his life, including Appalachia, where he grew up, and Colombia, where his ancestors are from.
