Eligible Amazon Prime customers are set to receive automatic refunds of up to $200 under a revised federal settlement, up from an earlier $51 limit.
The Federal Trade Commission said the payments concern U.S. customers who enrolled through subscription prompts it challenged, or who tried unsuccessfully to cancel online, between June 23, 2019, and June 23, 2025. To qualify, customers must also have used no more than 20 Prime benefits in any 12-month period after enrolling.
The FTC reached a $2.5 billion settlement with Amazon in September 2025 over alleged deceptive Prime enrollment and cancellation practices. It required a $1 billion civil penalty and $1.5 billion for affected consumers. A revision raised the maximum individual refund to $200.
