Portage Bay Café will close its West Seattle Junction location after service on Sunday, October 25. The breakfast and brunch restaurant is at 4725 42nd SW.
Owner Amy Fair Gunnar said the restaurant does not have enough indoor seating to sustain it through fall and winter, particularly as operating costs rise. The café opened in West Seattle in 2023 and is one of five locations in the local chain.
Gunnar said the other four restaurants are doing well. She said the company is working to find places at those locations for nearly all employees from the West Seattle café.
