Six Flags has temporarily shut nine rides at six parks after a man died in a fall from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia on Monday, the company said.
Police identified the man as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Atlanta, and said several other people were injured. Witnesses said he fell from his seat on the ride. The cause remains under investigation.
Six Flags said the closures cover similar attractions but did not specify which rides were affected. Goliath reaches 200 feet and speeds of 70 mph. The Georgia park was closed Tuesday for a scheduled non-operating day, the company said.
