A Dallas woman was found guilty Monday of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault in a crash that killed Southern Methodist University student Honor Wallace and seriously injured her friend Catherine “CeCe” Solberg.
Lynlee Pollis, 30, was driving on a Central Expressway service road when she struck Wallace’s car at Monticello Avenue in Dallas on Sept. 24, 2023. Wallace, 19, was from suburban Detroit. Pollis was traveling 67 mph in a 35 mph zone, and experts testified that her blood alcohol concentration was nearly four times the legal limit.
During Tuesday’s punishment phase, friend Haley Keller testified that Wallace had planned to drive her and Solberg to the airport that evening. When they did not arrive, Keller checked Solberg’s location through Snapchat and went to Baylor University Medical Center, where she learned the two had been taken after the crash.
