Central Florida could see temperatures approach record levels this weekend before storm chances return.
A forecast for the Orlando area also calls for a mostly dry Thursday, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s. Spotty rain may reach southern Brevard and Osceola counties as moisture moves north.
Showers and storms become more likely Friday afternoon ahead of a cold front, with highs again reaching the low 90s. The front is expected to cross Central Florida on Saturday, bringing another chance of storms early in the afternoon.
After the front passes, north-northeast winds are forecast to strengthen late Saturday into Sunday, making surf rougher. Cooler, drier air could bring Sunday morning lows into the 60s in some areas, followed by highs in the upper 70s to low 80s.
