The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 2-1 on Sunday night in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series. Brice Turang homered off Tarik Skubal, and Luis Lara broke a 1-1 tie with a fifth-inning single off Skubal.
Milwaukee’s bullpen took over after Jacob Misiorowski left in the fifth. Four relievers held Los Angeles to two hits, with Trevor Megill recording the save. The Dodgers grounded into three double plays and stranded nine runners; Mookie Betts flied out to the center-field warning track to end the game.
The win ended Milwaukee’s seven-game postseason losing streak against Los Angeles, which swept the Brewers in last year’s NLCS. Game 2 is Monday in Milwaukee, with Yoshinobu Yamamoto scheduled to start for the Dodgers and Logan Henderson for the Brewers.
