The Milwaukee Brewers beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 6-2 on Wednesday, taking a 3-0 lead in the National League Championship Series after Jake Bauers and Garrett Mitchell homered on consecutive at-bats in the seventh inning.
Los Angeles had moved ahead 2-1 in the sixth. In the seventh, Andrew Vaughn walked before Bauers hit a two-run homer off Blake Snell to put Milwaukee back in front. Mitchell followed with a solo shot that ended Snell’s outing. Snell had retired 14 straight batters before Vaughn’s walk.
Game 4 is Thursday at Dodger Stadium, where the Brewers can complete a sweep of the two-time defending World Series champions. The Dodgers swept Milwaukee in last year’s NLCS. Only one major league team has recovered from a 3-0 postseason series deficit: the Boston Red Sox against the New York Yankees in the 2004 AL Championship Series.
