Washington ran out of time in field-goal range and finished Sunday with a 27-27 tie against the New York Giants. With 12 seconds left in overtime and no timeouts, Jayden Daniels kept the ball and went down for no gain. The Commanders lined up to spike it, but the clock expired.
Washington had regained possession with two minutes left after Daron Payne stripped the ball from Cam Skattebo while the Giants were in range for a game-winning field goal. Daniels moved the Commanders to the Giants' 24 before the final sequence.
Earlier, the Giants erased a two-touchdown fourth-quarter deficit. Jameis Winston threw a 17-yard touchdown pass to Isaiah Likely, then found Malik Nabers for a tying 17-yard score with 1:43 remaining.
Winston finished with 326 passing yards and three touchdowns. Daniels threw for 199 yards and ran for 103 yards and two touchdowns in his first game back since dislocating his left elbow for a second time.
