A jersey Michael Jordan wore in Game 2 of the 1998 NBA Finals sold for $14 million, Hunt Auctions announced Monday. The Pennsylvania auction house said the buyer was a Miami real estate investor.
The jersey dates from Jordan’s final championship season with the Chicago Bulls. He averaged 33.5 points per game in the Finals, won the series MVP award and helped Chicago complete its second run of three consecutive NBA titles.
Jordan retired from the NBA for the second time after that season. The $14 million sale was reported as a record.
