No. 22 Houston beat Kansas State 35-16 on Saturday in Manhattan, Kansas, with Conner Weigman throwing four touchdown passes to tight end Patrick Overmyer.
Overmyer's four scoring catches tied the FBS record for touchdown receptions by a tight end in a game. Weigman completed 19 of 30 passes for 242 yards as Houston improved to 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12.
Houston extended its lead to 28-3 after a Kansas State punt to start the second half, driving 76 yards before Weigman found Overmyer for an 8-yard score. The two connected again from 2 yards out after Kansas State cut the deficit to 28-9.
Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson finished 16 of 30 for 182 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The Wildcats fell to 3-2 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
