Georgia Tech and Emory University announced plans to invest more than $1.1 billion in artificial intelligence infrastructure in Georgia.
Emory’s share is $600 million, while Georgia Tech is committing $575 million. Tim Lieuwen, Georgia Tech’s executive vice president of research, said the partnership is intended to help the state remain competitive as AI develops.
As part of its plans, Georgia Tech is set to unveil a $55 million supercomputer next week. Emory is directing its AI health work toward cancer, kidney disease and other conditions.
