Dallas-based venture capital firm Disruptive aims to raise up to $10 billion for its first megafund. A person with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed that the firm has secured $7.5 billion in commitments.
The person said Disruptive plans to invest in about 10 late-stage and growth-stage companies over the next two years, focusing on AI, AI infrastructure and defense technology. The commitments reportedly came mainly from previous investors, including institutions and family offices.
Disruptive has typically backed individual deals through special purpose vehicles. Its only other announced fund, focused on mid-stage defense investments, closed in 2023. The firm's portfolio has included Groq, Palantir and Databricks.
