Houston retained all six of its one-star restaurants in the 2026 Michelin Guide Texas selection, announced October 8. None gained a new star, but 14 restaurants received new distinctions, more than in any other Texas city.

BCN Taste & Tradition, CorkScrew BBQ, Le Jardinier Houston, March, Musaafer and Tatemó kept their stars. Five Houston restaurants earned Bib Gourmand distinctions, including Kitchen Rumors, Khói Barbecue and Bar Buena. Nine others joined the Recommended list for the first time, among them Angie’s and Jantra.

Houston recipients also took three of the guide’s four special awards: Xolo’s Angel Bautista received the Cocktail Award, Sushi Horiuchi’s Jessica Cano the Sommelier Award, and Baso’s Jacques Varon and Max Lappe the Young Chef/Culinary Professional Award.

Not every previous listing remained. Brisket & Rice no longer has a Bib Gourmand, and Hidden Omakase lost its Recommended status. The statewide selection covers 149 restaurants across 30 cuisine types; 53 are in Houston.
