Fourth-ranked Miami beat Clemson 41-13 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday, improving to 5-0 overall and 3-0 in ACC play.
The Hurricanes struck on their first offensive play when quarterback Darian Mensah connected with Cooper Barkate on a 61-yard catch-and-run touchdown. Mensah finished with 227 passing yards, completing 18 of 27 attempts, and added a 34-yard rushing score. Barkate caught five passes for a season-high 98 yards.
The result marked a sharp contrast with Miami’s previous trip to Clemson in November 2022, when the Hurricanes lost 40-10 during coach Mario Cristobal’s first season. Miami’s win totals have risen since then, from five in 2022 to 13 in 2025, when the team reached the national championship game.
Cristobal said the team still faces a difficult road after five games, even as it remains unbeaten despite injuries.
