Arizona Cardinals left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. will miss the rest of the season after tearing a bicep in the game against the New York Giants, head coach Mike LaFleur told reporters Monday.
Johnson was injured on the final drive and left the field holding his left arm. Rookie Jayden Williams, a seventh-round pick from Mississippi, replaced him. LaFleur said Johnson will undergo surgery soon and begin his recovery.
Johnson, 25, has started 47 games for Arizona over four seasons, including the first four this season. He was the sixth overall pick in the 2023 draft out of Ohio State.
LaFleur also said safety Andrew Wingard’s knee injury was less severe than the team initially feared, though he did not know how long Wingard would be sidelined. Arizona lost 36-24 to the Giants, its third straight defeat, and is scheduled to host the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
