Fleet Week ship tours have begun in San Francisco, giving visitors a chance to board U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels at the city's waterfront piers.
The tours are part of Fleet Week, scheduled from Oct. 4 through Oct. 12. The event celebrates the nation's sea services and also includes a parade of ships and a multi-day air show featuring the Blue Angels.
Visitors can watch the aerial displays from locations along San Francisco Bay between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz. Concerts by Navy and Marine Corps bands are also planned in city neighborhoods, along with an Honor Our Fallen Concert led by the 1st Marine Division Band.
