Gabby Williams scored 25 points as the Golden State Valkyries beat the Las Vegas Aces 71-60 on Sunday in Game 1 of the WNBA semifinals.
Williams added 11 rebounds and five assists in the win at Chase Center. She scored 18 points in the first half, helping Golden State build a 32-23 lead with 5:43 left before halftime. Kiah Stokes finished with 14 rebounds and three blocked shots.
Las Vegas got 24 points from A'ja Wilson and 16 from Chelsea Gray but posted its lowest point total of the season. Guard Jewell Loyd left early in the third quarter with a left leg injury. The Aces said she was being evaluated, and coach Becky Hammon had no immediate update after the game.
Game 2 of the best-of-five series is Wednesday night at Chase Center.
