Dodgers match MLB playoff streak mark with 14th straight berth
The Dodgers clinched their 14th consecutive playoff berth Monday night with a 4-1 win over the Cincinnati Reds, tying the Major League Baseball record for straight postseason appearances.
The streak matches the Atlanta Braves’ run from 1991 to 2005. Los Angeles is also the two-time defending World Series champion and has now secured another place in October after a run that has produced five World Series appearances and three titles.
The victory also cut the Dodgers’ magic number to three for a fifth straight NL West title and a 13th division crown in 14 seasons. Milwaukee and Tampa Bay have also locked up postseason spots.
