Miami returns to Nike in 10-year apparel deal
Miami athletics has agreed to a 10-year Nike apparel contract worth more than $200 million, ending its long partnership with Adidas.
The switch is set to take effect next July, when Miami’s current Adidas agreement expires ahead of the 2027 athletic season. Miami previously partnered with Nike from 1987 to 2015 before moving to Adidas in what was then a landmark all-sports college deal.
The reported value would make the agreement one of Nike’s biggest in college sports and could rank as the company’s second-largest collegiate investment, behind Oregon. Miami entered negotiations after a national championship game appearance, while Adidas recently struck major long-term deals with Penn State and Tennessee.
Miami’s earlier Nike era coincided with four football national titles and two in baseball, giving the return added historical weight for the Hurricanes.
