Microsoft executives said businesses must rethink how work gets done to make effective use of AI agents, rather than attach new tools to existing processes. They spoke at the opening keynote of Community Summit North America 2026 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Georg Glantschnig, Microsoft's corporate vice president of Dynamics 365 Agentic ERP Applications, urged companies to look beyond speeding up individual tasks. His message focused on how work passes between functions such as finance and operations, alongside the need for governance and business context.
The keynote addressed AI use in Dynamics 365, Power Platform and related technologies. Speakers also raised the need to prepare data and employees. In a discussion with TMC Global chief AI officer Shane Young, the company's CEO and founder Jennifer Harris emphasized bringing people together to help customers put technology to use.
The summit runs from October 11 to 15 at Nashville's Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center. It gathers business application users, technology partners and industry experts for training, education and networking.
