SpaceX appears to have set a one-day record by landing four rocket boosters, with two returning after a late-night Falcon Heavy launch in Florida. The milestone was reported after three SpaceX launches on Thursday.
Falcon Heavy lifted off at 11:54 p.m. ET from Launch Complex 39A at Kennedy Space Center. It carried NROL-97, a classified mission for the National Reconnaissance Office and the agency’s first flight on Falcon Heavy.
About eight minutes later, the rocket’s side boosters landed at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Earlier that day, a Falcon 9 booster returned following the Crew-13 launch, and another returned after a Transporter-18 mission from California. Together, the four landings appear to mark a first for SpaceX.
