The Chicago International Film Festival plans to honor Marlon Wayans with its Career Achievement Award at an Oct. 19 event at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts.
The program will include a tribute to Wayans’ career and an in-person conversation moderated by his friend, actor Omar Epps. Wayans has worked as a comedian, actor, writer and producer.
He made his debut performing sketches on In Living Color, the television series associated with his older brother Keenen Ivory Wayans. He later starred alongside another brother, Shawn, in The Wayans Bros., a sitcom that ran from 1995 to 1999.
The brothers also appeared in the first two Scary Movie films and White Chicks. Marlon Wayans has writing credits for those films and for the 1996 comedy Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood.
