Tickets for Muir Woods National Monument’s final night tour of 2026 will be released at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 16, for a walk scheduled on Friday, Oct. 30.
Park ranger Siena Hinshelwood said reservations are moving from nps.gov to Recreation.gov. Tickets will cost $1, rather than being free as they were before. The tour typically sells out immediately, so visitors hoping to attend may want to be ready when reservations open.
The ranger-led walk covers about two miles in roughly two hours, following the Redwood Grove and Hillside trails through old-growth redwoods at dusk. It passes Founders Grove and Cathedral Grove. The route is mostly flat but includes stairs, and the tour focuses on nocturnal wildlife and the forest ecosystem.
Hinshelwood confirmed that the Oct. 30 walk is the last of the year. Dates for 2027 have not yet been finalized.
