Twelve wooden trolls are expected at two Pierce County attractions for Danish artist Thomas Dambo’s traveling outdoor exhibition, TROLLS: A Field Study. The exhibition is scheduled to run from October 15, 2026, through January 24, 2027.
Northwest Trek Wildlife Park in Eatonville is set to display eight trolls, while Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium in Tacoma will host four. The sculptures are handcrafted from reclaimed materials, including fallen branches, scrap wood, pallets and twigs.
One of the Northwest Trek trolls, named Valle, is planned for the park’s free-roaming area, along a route where visitors pass animals including mountain goats and bison. Visitors can reach the area by electric tram, a Keeper Adventure Tour or in their own vehicle on the Wild Drive.
