Lynlee Pollis reportedly received a seven-year prison sentence Wednesday for a 2023 crash that killed Southern Methodist University student Honor Elizabeth Wallace in Dallas. Pollis, 30, had been convicted of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault on Oct. 12.
Pollis ran a red light on Sept. 24, 2023, and struck Wallace’s vehicle. Wallace, 19, died, while a passenger in her car suffered a broken collarbone. Pollis had minor injuries.
An arrest warrant affidavit says Pollis told police she had consumed a tequila-infused margarita and taken ADHD medication before the crash. Tests found her blood alcohol concentration was 0.294, nearly four times the legal limit.
Pollis also faces 10 years of probation, including 15 days in jail each year around the victims’ birthdays, the crash anniversary and her own birthday. Wallace was a sophomore from Grosse Pointe, Michigan, studying English and Spanish at SMU.
