A projectile of unknown origin hit Terminal 4 at Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport on Sunday, October 11, and started a fire, the Saudi-led coalition fighting the Houthis in Yemen said. Saudi aviation officials reported injuries without giving a number.

The airport had been struck by a missile the previous day. Saudi authorities put the toll at 13 dead, including an American citizen, and more than 300 wounded. India’s embassy said an Indian citizen died of injuries Sunday, bringing the death toll up from 12. Authorities have not publicly named the American victim.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for Saturday’s strike and said the group had also attacked Dammam’s airport and two Saudi Aramco facilities. Saudi aviation authorities confirmed a separate attack Sunday evening at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

President Donald Trump said Saturday that the U.S. was considering whether to join Saudi strikes against the Houthis. The Saudi-led coalition pledged a forceful response to the deadly Riyadh attack.
