Ukraine has resumed strikes on Russian oil refineries after a three-day pause following President Donald Trump’s announcement of an energy ceasefire. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy indicated that Kyiv would no longer hold back, amid frustration with both Russia and the United States.
Ukraine accused Russia of repeatedly attacking its power grid during the pause. Zelenskyy also expressed concern about gaps in U.S. intelligence sharing on Russian attacks and restrictions on the Starlink internet service. A person in Ukraine’s Defense Ministry said Thursday that access through Starshield, the military version of the service, was being at least partly restored.
Hours after Zelenskyy signaled the end of the pause, Ryazan region Governor Pavel Malkov reported a fire at an oil refinery. Russia’s Defense Ministry accused Ukraine of attempting a large-scale attack on the facility.
